Central African Republic : Agreement with the Saudi Fund for Development, for a project of road lighting of the capital with solar energy

The Minister of State in Charge of economy, Planning and International Corporation of the Central African Republic Mr Felix Moloua, has signed today Wednesday 13 october 2022, with the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development, Mr Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, an agreement to finance a public lighting project using solar energy in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic.

 

This signature made on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Washington, includes according to a press release “the lighting of 70 km of the road network of the city of Bangui through the supply and installation of lighting poles and solar panels as well as the supply of storage batteries, controllers and lighting lamps.”

 

“This type of energy is considered a clean and sustainable energy that ensures the provision of efficient lighting, promotes the use of environmentally friendly technologies, improves road safety and increases its quality, and reduces the death rate caused by road accidents,” the statement said.
