AGL Plans a Strategic Investment in Bouaké as Part of the “Bouaké Nouveau” Program

A Key Meeting for the Future of Logistics in Central Côte d’Ivoire

A crucial meeting for the future of logistics in central Côte d’Ivoire was held on February 22. Philippe Labonne, President of Africa Global Logistics (AGL), led a high-level delegation that was received by Ivorian Minister of Transport Amadou Koné, who is also the mayor of Bouaké.

A Visit Focused on Regional Development

The AGL delegation, which included Asta-Rosa Cissé (Regional Director, AGL CI-BF), Simplice Essoh (CEO of SITARAIL), and Dieudonné Gaibai (Deputy CEO of AGL-CI), explored the opportunities offered by the “Bouaké Nouveau” program. This ambitious project aims to transform Côte d’Ivoire’s second-largest city with modern infrastructure suited to current economic challenges.

Philippe Labonne showed particular interest in initiatives related to logistics and port and rail infrastructure. This development could create up to a thousand jobs in the short term, establishing a major logistics hub in the heart of Côte d’Ivoire.

According to industry observers, “Bouaké’s strategic geographic position, at the intersection of key north-south and east-west trade routes, makes it a crucial hub for logistics development across the sub-region.”

A Revealing Field Visit

Following the working session, the delegation toured existing and planned infrastructure, including:

  • The site of Bouaké’s future logistics zone,
  • AGL’s storage and export logistics bases for cashew and cotton,
  • OLAM’s cashew processing plant.

This visit aligns with AGL’s expansion strategy in West Africa, where the group is strengthening its leadership in integrated logistics solutions.
