ARMOR-IIMAK highlights extensive product range at Propak Africa 2025

ARMOR-IIMAKleading providers of thermal transfer ribbons, will showcase their latest product portfolio, as well as their solutions for a broad range of applications at Propak Africa 2025 at Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec from 11-14 March 2025.

Andrew Fosbrook, Director of ARMOR-IIMAK Middle East & Africa says that part of their exhibit will be focussed on demonstrating to visitors how to meet the new global standards, which is the first change to retail barcodes in over 50 years.

This new standard is based on the GS1 Data Link standard, which includes the use of QR codes to add data-rich codes that allow additional variable information to be included on product labels. These codes can be scanned using a smartphone, which provides consumers with the ability to access additional information on the web.

Our team at Propak Africa will address the latest GS1 requirements and unpack how these new regulations demand the inclusion of QR codes on all products in the imminent future.  We will also share how thermal transfer technology is fully equipped to meet these legislative requirements, ensuring compliance and ease of implementation for businesses across the supply chain,” he adds.

ARMOR-IIMAK will showcase their comprehensive range of thermal transfer ribbons, which meets 99% of marking demands in the industry. This includes their inkanto range of branded thermal transfer ribbons, which combine quality, security, simplicity and longevity.  In addition, the company will demonstrate their innovative CleanStart solution that includes two complimentary cleaning products to ensure optimal printhead performance that extends the lifespan of thermal transfer printers.

“A real value-add”, says Fosbrook, “is our technical printing laboratory that conducts testing for customers to ensure that ribbons meet the specifications of their applications.
