Burkina: A new toll to improve revenue and facilitate vehicle passage

(Burkina Faso Information Agency) – The minister in charge of infrastructure, Adama Luc Sorgho, indicated Tuesday that the commissioning of the new modern toll, at the eastern exit of Ouagadougou, will help improve revenues, facilitate the passage of vehicles and also help in surveillance of the territory.

The new modern toll will “help improve revenues, facilitate the passage of vehicles and also reduce surveillance (of the territory)”, indicated the minister in charge of infrastructure, Adama Luc Sorgho.

According to Mr. Sorgho, the modern toll booth is equipped with cameras that allow vehicle registrations and also the identity of users to be scanned.

The minister in charge of infrastructure, Adama Luc Sorgho, spoke on Tuesday in Ouagadougou during an outing to see the progress of the work on the new modern toll at Boutenga, at the eastern exit of Ouagadougou.

According to the minister, the toll was expected to be received last December. But there were technical problems, particularly with regard to automation.
He hoped that within two months, all the work would be completed and the structure put into service to the delight of users.
