Airport Cooperation: Royal Air Maroc Announces New Route Between Casablanca and Kuwait City

Morocco and Kuwait have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their partnership in the civil aviation sector. Discussions to this effect took place on Wednesday in Montreal between the Moroccan Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh, and the President of Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Hamoud Mubarak Al-Hamoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Launch of a Direct Connection
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 42nd Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Following this bilateral discussion, Mr. Kayouh confirmed the excellent quality of relations between the two nations and made a major announcement: Royal Air Maroc will soon launch a direct flight connecting Casablanca to Kuwait City.

The Minister also highlighted the effectiveness of current cooperation, particularly in the field of air safety.

Exchange of Expertise and Sustainability
The talks emphasized the need for increased exchange of experiences, especially in the areas of sustainable development and civil aviation safety. Both parties stressed the importance of strengthening these strategic ties.

Morocco at ICAO: Candidacy for the Council and Active Diplomacy
Morocco is taking an active part in the ICAO Assembly, held from September 23 to October 3, with a large delegation led by Mr. Kayouh.

The Kingdom’s presence at this international event reflects its unwavering commitment to aviation safety, security, and sustainable development. Rabat aims to play a leading role by presenting its candidacy for the ICAO Council, with the objective of contributing actively to the global governance of this key sector.

On the sidelines of the Assembly, the Moroccan delegation has scheduled a series of bilateral meetings with several foreign counterparts and representatives of international organizations. These discussions are intended to deepen technical and operational cooperation across all areas of civil aviation.
