The transport ministers of Egypt and Tunisia have agreed on boosting cooperation and exchanging expertise to achieve best interests of their countries.
Egypt’s Kamel el Wazir, in a meeting with his Tunisian counterpart Rabie al Mejidi via video conference on Tuesday 29/3/2022, discussed proposals to enhance cooperation in the field of maritime transport, whether through navigation lines between the two Arab countries or between Egypt and Europe through Tunisia.
The meeting also took up cooperation among navigation companies in the two Arab countries to offer shipping and logistics services at their ports.
Wazir and Mejidi also talked about land and railway transport, with focus on road linkage projects with neighboring countries, a statement by the Transport Ministry said.
Wazir posted Mejidi on a comprehensive plan to upgrade 10,000 kilometers of existing railways, and extend another 2,000 kilometers, noting that this should be done through establishing a network of express electric trains in Egypt.
Wazir voiced willingness to share all his Ministry’s potentials to serve joint cooperation with Tunisia.
