A DRC-Angola Logistics Project: Catalyst for Regional Economic Growth

A decisive meeting took place on Thursday, May 29, 2025, in Kinshasa, where the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Daniel Mukoko Samba, welcomed representatives from the Angolan companies CRIMERA LOGISTICS and CRESCENS TRI. The core topic of the discussion was the development of a state-of-the-art logistics platform, paired with innovative waste management initiatives for the Congolese capital.

Inspired by a major $200 million Angolan project, this initiative aims to streamline logistics flows, modernize critical infrastructure, and boost regional trade, particularly through the Lobito Corridor. To ensure long-term success, Daniel Mukoko Samba proposed establishing direct ties between the Angolan companies and the Congolese private sector, fostering local synergy and national buy-in.

This strategic cooperation is expected to position Kinshasa as a central hub for regional logistics, paving the way for sustainable economic growth and stronger trade exchanges between Angola and the DRC. According to logistics and industrial development experts, the DRC-Angola agreement presents a unique opportunity to develop robust logistics infrastructure, akin to the supply chains found in the mining sector. The utilization of the Lobito Corridor is seen as a key driver to energize intra-regional trade, facilitate the movement of natural resources, and spur the creation of industrial service clusters around Kinshasa—thus extending economic dynamism beyond the southern mining zones toward the west.
