-Following a fatal road accident involving two buses in Yamoussoukro on Thursday, January 5, 2023, around 11 a.m., the Minister of Transport, Amadou Koné, expressed in a press release the Government’s sincere condolences to the relatives of the deceased victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
The Minister of Transport once again called on motorists and road users to be more vigilant and to respect the highway code.
The provisional toll is 14 dead, several injured and significant material damage. The injured were quickly taken care of by the emergency and health services.
As soon as he was informed, the Minister of Transport dispatched the Regional Director of Transport of Yamoussoukro to the scene to assess the situation and to give him a precise account of the circumstances of this accident, said the statement on January 5.
While waiting to determine the exact causes, with the assistance of the competent services, the Minister of Transport has once again called on motorists and road users to be more vigilant and to respect the highway code.
