Côte d’Ivoire : Official Opening of the Eticoon-Tollakro and Lakota Tollgates

This Friday, February 14, marks a significant milestone in the development of road infrastructure in Côte d’Ivoire with the official opening of the Eticoon-Tollakro and Lakota tollgates. This ceremony was presided over by the Minister of Equipment and Road Maintenance, Dr. Amédé Koffi Kouakou, in the presence of several dignitaries and key players in the road sector.

Alongside the Minister, Mr. Ezoua Stéphane, Deputy Chief of Staff, as well as several local officials, honored the event with their presence. The ceremony also saw the participation of Mr. Fabrice Coulibaly, Director General of AGEROUTE, who reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to the development of the country’s road infrastructure.

The symbolic passage of the first vehicle, under the attentive gaze of the Director General of the Road Maintenance Fund (FER) and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of FER, Mr. Thomas Camara, marked the official commissioning of these new infrastructures.

These new tollgates play an essential role in financing road maintenance in Côte d’Ivoire. By ensuring better road upkeep, they contribute to smoother traffic flow and improved user safety. These infrastructures will also provide increased comfort for motorists while ensuring better connectivity between regions.

The inauguration of the Eticoon-Tollakro and Lakota tollgates is thus part of a broader effort to modernize and optimize the Ivorian road network, a crucial initiative for the country’s economic and social development.
