The signing ceremony of this contract which will take place during a ministerial program organized by the Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AfCFTA) in Accra at the Labadi Beach Hotel, will be attended by several personalities from the country and the continent.
These include: H.E. Nana Addo Akufo-Addo, President of Ghana, H.E. John-Peter Amewu, Minister of Railway Development of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Ebrahim Patel, Minister of Trade and Industry of South Africa, H.E. Wamkele Mene, Secretary General of the Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA); Dr. Akinwumi A. Adesina, President of the African Development Bank Group; Prof. Benedict Oramah, President and Chairman of the Board of Afreximbank; and Mr. Ronnie Ntuli, Chairman of Thelo DB.
“The Western Railway Line project will transform Ghana’s existing rail infrastructure base into a modern, robust and integrated rail system with the associated infrastructure to position Ghana’s rail network as a leading transport system in Africa,” said Ronnie Ntuli, chairman of Thelo DB.
Thelo DB is a South African rail entity formed between Thelo Ventures, an African industrial company, and Deutsche Bahn Engineering & Consulting (DB) of Germany. Thelo DB consortium also includes Ghanaian partner Transtech Consult.
