Training and immersion: Congo Terminal opens its doors to students in transport, logistics and international trade
From 25 February to the end of March, Congo Terminal welcomes first-, second- and third-year students studying transport, logistics and/or international trade at higher education institutions, including the Institut International 2I and DGC, for educational visits to its facilities.
This initiative is part of Congo Terminal’s commitment to actively contribute to the training of young talent and strengthen bridges between academia and business.
‘These moments of exchange and discovery help prepare future professionals in the sector and inspire vocations,’ said Mauricette Ignoumba, Recruitment and Internship Manager at Congo Terminal.
The visits begin with the institutional films presenting Congo Terminal’s activities, professions and strategic challenges. This introduction gives students a better understanding of the key role played by a container terminal in the logistics chain. The visit continues with a discussion session during which students deepen their knowledge, before ending with an immersion in the heart of operations (discovering the infrastructure; safety/security processes; port handling equipment such as RTG, STS, cranes, etc.).
‘This type of visit allows students to compare their theoretical knowledge with the realities on the ground and to better understand the demands of port professions,’ emphasised Moïse Makosso, Head of the Institut 2I delegation.
Congo Terminal reaffirms its commitment to knowledge transfer and training young talent daily. The company welcomes around 200 to 300 students per year for immersion visits. These visits help prepare the next generation for the demands of port and logistics professions. Congo Terminal promotes its values of excellence, passion and solidarity.
