UNICEF, DSV strengthen partnership to boost delivery of emergency aid

UNICEF and global logistics company DSV have expanded their ongoing collaboration to improve the delivery of emergency aid to children affected by crises around the world. This renewed partnership enables DSV to offer increased in-kind air freight services, helping UNICEF distribute vital supplies more rapidly and to a broader range of locations.

This enhanced cooperation builds on a three-year relationship that focuses on strengthening emergency responses and ensuring vulnerable children have timely access to essential resources. The expanded agreement supports UNICEF’s mission by improving the speed and reach of its supply chains during humanitarian emergencies.

Goals

Over the past year, DSV has transported more than 85 tonnes of critical supplies for UNICEF to seven different countries. Notable efforts include the organization’s first airlift of humanitarian goods to Lebanon in 2024 and the shipment of 30 tonnes of medical equipment and shelters to the Democratic Republic of the Congo in response to the mpox outbreak.

UNICEF’s Director of Private Fundraising and Partnerships, Carla Haddad Mardini, emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts, stating that progress in saving children’s lives is made possible through the support of generous partners like DSV.

DSV Group CEO Jens H. Lund highlighted the company’s commitment to UNICEF’s cause, noting that their logistics expertise and global infrastructure are key to overcoming challenges and ensuring aid reaches even the most remote areas. The company’s continued support aims to help UNICEF act swiftly in the early stages of emergencies, when rapid response is most critical. This renewed partnership is a strong example of how public-private collaboration can make a tangible difference in humanitarian efforts, especially for children in crisis.
