  • A low-carbon less-than-container load (LCL) maritime service between France and Côte d’Ivoire that reduces CO₂ emissions by 84% compared to conventional ocean freight.
  • Weekly departures from Rouen, Marseille and Lyon.
  • A sustainable shipping solution within the CEVA FORPLANET offering, aligned with CEVA’s commitment to more environmentally responsible logistics.

CEVA Logistics is continuing its expansion of low-carbon transportation solutions with the launch of a new decarbonized LCL ocean freight service between France and Côte d’Ivoire. This new offering is aimed at customers seeking more sustainable shipping alternatives for their West Africa-bound cargo, leveraging the use of biofuels in maritime transport.

As a global logistics player committed to sustainable operations, CEVA Logistics now offers weekly consolidated shipments from Rouen, Marseille, and Lyon to Abidjan. This new service directly addresses two key concerns for CEVA’s customers: securing reliable and regular departures from France while reducing the carbon footprint of their supply chains to the African continent.

The new LCL service between France and Côte d’Ivoire, made possible by CEVA’s significant investments in maritime biofuels, achieves an 84% reduction in CO₂ emissions compared to traditional ocean freight.

Designed with both performance and sustainability in mind, this low-carbon LCL service is available for all types of goods, with weekly departures and a 24-day transit time from Rouen to Abidjan.

CEVA FORPLANET: A Portfolio of Low-Carbon Transport Solutions

Launched in November 2024, the CEVA FORPLANET offering enables customers to reduce the environmental impact of their supply chains through a suite of low-carbon transportation options, circular economy initiatives, and integrated measurement and optimization tools. The program includes modal shift strategies and the use of alternative fuels across ocean, air, and land transport modes.

This new decarbonized LCL maritime service between France and Côte d’Ivoire is part of the CEVA FORPLANET portfolio, underscoring the company’s ongoing drive to offer more sustainable logistics solutions.

“Act for the Planet”: A Pillar of CEVA’s CSR Strategy

CEVA Logistics is deeply committed to environmental protection and minimizing the impact of its operations. As part of its environmental approach, the company offers customers alternative fuel options, including marine biofuels, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), and the use of biofuels or electric vehicles for ground transport.

In 2024, CEVA avoided over 26,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions through the use of more than 10 million liters of sustainable marine and aviation fuels.

“This decarbonized ocean service from France to Côte d’Ivoire reflects CEVA’s core commitment to continuous innovation in low-carbon product development. Our goal is to broaden our impact by sustainably supporting our customers’ supply chains with door-to-door low-carbon solutions. We are proud to include this LCL service to Abidjan in our growing range of decarbonized offerings to West Africa, at the heart of global maritime trade,” said Paul Bernard, Managing Director for West Africa and Overseas Territories at CEVA Logistics.
