Davies Turner Expands Morocco–UK Fleet to 35 Trailers

By the Logis-T Africa editorial team

British freight and supply chain specialist Davies Turner is strengthening its presence on the UK–Ireland–Morocco trade corridors by expanding its fleet of Krone trailers dedicated to Moroccan services to 35 units. This investment underscores the central role of transport in Morocco in Euro-African trade and the growing importance of Moroccan logistics.

These “hanging garment mega trailers”, mainly serving the fashion, retail, and automotive sectors, respond to strong demand along this strategic Africa–Europe international trade route.

Enhanced Security and Visibility on Morocco–Europe Flows

The new units, equipped with steel walls, roofs, and doors, offer higher protection against intrusions and theft—an essential concern for transport in Africa. They also feature GPS tracking and remote door monitoring systems, enabling real-time visibility of goods throughout the supply chain.

Davies Turner operates daily full-load and groupage services, with regular departures from Thursday to Saturday. Standard transit times between Morocco and the UK or Ireland are 4–5 days, reduced to 72 hours for express services, enhancing Morocco’s attractiveness as a logistics hub.

Morocco: A Regional Industrial and Logistics Hub

The increase in volumes is driven by the rebound of the textile and apparel sector and growth in automotive components, particularly related to electric vehicle production. These sectors are structuring the supply chain in North Africa and driving the logistics market in Africa.

Davies Turner relies on an operational presence in Morocco through its cooperation with DTCO MAROC and an on-site representative based in Tangier. This setup facilitates the management of customs procedures at Tanger Med Port and secures flows in a context of intensifying transport in Morocco.

An Integrated Morocco–Ireland–UK Supply Chain

Services between Ireland and Morocco also play a key role, notably for the aerospace industry, with just-in-time flows. Meanwhile, the group’s maritime and air cargo divisions support imports of raw materials into Morocco and exports of finished goods to Europe and North America.

With this fleet expansion, Davies Turner confirms Morocco’s strategic importance in logistics and transport in Africa, at a time when supply chains are becoming more regionalized and secure.
