Sallaum Lines Expands Its Eco-Efficient Fleet with the Delivery of MV Ocean Legacy
Global RoRo carrier Sallaum Lines has taken delivery of MV Ocean Legacy, the latest Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) to join its Ocean Class fleet. The delivery comes just one month after the entry into service of MV Ocean Explorer, highlighting the fast-paced execution of the company’s fleet renewal program and its strategic focus on modern, energy-efficient tonnage.
Built at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd., MV Ocean Legacy measures 199.90 metres in length and 37.7 metres in breadth, offering a car-carrying capacity of 7,400 units across 13 cargo decks. The vessel significantly strengthens Sallaum Lines’ large-scale RoRo transport capabilities on global trade routes.
LNG Dual-Fuel Propulsion Driving Environmental Performance
Designed with sustainability at its core, MV Ocean Legacy is equipped with LNG dual-fuel propulsion combined with advanced energy-efficient design features. With LNG storage capacity ranging between 36 and 37.8 tonnes, the vessel ensures extended endurance on long-haul voyages while delivering substantial reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and air pollutants.
These next-generation technologies go beyond current regulatory requirements, providing enhanced fuel flexibility, operational reliability, and a markedly lower environmental footprint—key priorities as the maritime sector accelerates its transition toward decarbonisation.
