Côte d’Ivoire: The Ferkessedougou dry port will be delivered within the next 24 months

A Government Mission composed of the Minister of Transport Amadou Koné and the Minister of State, Minister of Defense Tené Birahima Ouattara President of the Regional Council of Tchologo; visited on Friday, September 16, 2022, the construction site of the dry port of Ferkessedougou.

 

Following the guided tour to see the progress of work, Minister Amadou Kone said that the infrastructure “should be delivered within the next 24 months.

He also said “its commissioning will create nearly 2,000 direct jobs and 30,000 indirect jobs for an investment of 300 billion CFA francs.

 

Planned on an area of 732 ha, the construction of the dry port of Ferkessédougou was launched in May 2021. The ambition of the Ivorian authorities is to make it a major regional economic hub, being located 600 km from Abidjan, 600 km from Burkina Faso and 600 km from Mali, the choice of Ferkessédougou.

“The annual traffic expected after 10 years of operation is estimated at 1,800,000 tons,” according to the Minister of Transport.
