Air Algérie unveils its expansion plans for 2025, marking a significant strengthening of its international network with the addition of two new air routes. This initiative is part of an overall strategy aimed at increasing Algeria’s connectivity with Africa and Europe.
Hamza Ben Hamouda, CEO of Air Algérie, announced the launch of a new route connecting Algiers to Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, scheduled for next April. This connection represents a key step in the development of economic and cultural exchanges between Algeria and Nigeria, a major player in West Africa. The establishment of this route was the result of close collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and the Algerian Embassy in Nigeria, thus ensuring optimal conditions for this new service.
At the same time, Air Algérie plans to open a route to Amsterdam, the Netherlands, starting next winter. This initiative responds to the growing demand from travelers between Algeria and Europe, thus strengthening ties between the two regions.
The CEO also highlighted the company’s continuous efforts to explore new opportunities in Africa, China and North America. Among the projects under study is a potential connection to New York, USA, aimed at expanding transatlantic travel options.
In addition, Air Algérie will strengthen its presence in Europe with the addition of four regular flights to London Stansted Airport, starting next summer, while maintaining its existing flights to Heathrow Airport.
Finally, as part of its commitment to supporting the export of goods, the company recently inaugurated a line to Saudi Arabia and plans to extend this service to other destinations. These new air links consolidate Air Algérie’s role as a major player in international transport and contribute to the promotion of Algerian products abroad.
