Expo Osaka 2025: Ivory Coast Seeks to Attract Japanese Investors to Boost Trade Relations

For the Minister of Trade, the 2025 World Expo in Osaka—held under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”—represents more than just an opportunity to shine on the international stage.

Ivory Coast has reaffirmed its commitment to creating investment opportunities to support its foreign trade with Japan, according to Minister of Trade and Industry, Souleymane Diarrassouba, speaking on the occasion of Expo 2025 Osaka.

“Expo 2025 Osaka will offer Ivory Coast the opportunity to share its experience and expertise, while also affirming its ambition to create investment and business opportunities to benefit its foreign trade—particularly with Japan, and more broadly with ASEAN countries, commonly referred to as the Southeast Asian Tigers,” said Souleymane Diarrassouba.

For the Trade Minister, the Universal Exhibition in Osaka—held under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”—is far more than a chance to gain visibility internationally. Ivory Coast intends to revitalize dialogue and exchange, while promoting scientific and technological progress to support smart land use, maintain balance across ecosystems, and ensure sound management of natural resources.

He emphasized the country’s commitment to co-creating and shaping a sustainable society that aligns with the aspirations of individuals regarding their future lifestyles—particularly under the influence and momentum of Artificial Intelligence.

It is worth noting that from April 13 to October 13, 2025, the city of Osaka will continue to pulse with innovation. During these 183 days, Ivory Coast will be at the heart of this global exchange.
