Ivory Coast - Road infrastructure: when the Zuénoula – Gohitafla – Agbaou – Béoumi road connects the Marahoué and Gbêkê regions

The Zuénoula – Gohitafla – Agbaou – Béoumi road section, considered a key infrastructure for the development and prosperity of the Marahoué and Gbêkê regions, has been long awaited by the local populations. It will sustainably strengthen connectivity and direct trade between the central-west and central regions of Côte d’Ivoire.

This project, with its major socio-economic impacts, spans 91 km and features a modern, two-lane, seven-meter-wide configuration. It benefited from a substantial financial investment of over 100 billion CFA francs.

This road increases the mobility of goods and people and supports the development of several sectors of the economy. “This road has the advantage of connecting people and places, goods and services, safely, efficiently, and sustainably. It is essential for creating and maintaining sustainable and inclusive economic growth,” notes engineer Ange Albert Bohui.

Significant time savings, comfortable and safe travel, and the transport and distribution of food and cash crops to major regional and national markets are among the advantages of opening this road.

The Zuénoula – Gohitafla – Agbaou – Béoumi road section has a positive impact on promoting tourism, creating jobs, improving access to basic social services, and enhancing the living conditions of the communities benefiting from the project.

With this infrastructure, Côte d’Ivoire continues to invest in a modern, competitive road network that will catalyze its development. “Faced with this achievement, we have only one sentiment: to thank the government for its constant efforts to improve our quality of life,” emphasizes Aly Touré, a teacher.
