AGL Congo and Congo Terminal are supporting young people at the Congo Education, Career Guidance and Employment Forum

Two HR directors, two areas of expertise, one shared commitment: equipping Congolese young people for their professional future.

From 27 April to 6 May 2026, the second edition of the Congo Education, Career Guidance and Professional Integration Forum (SEOPC) opened its doors at the Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza Memorial auditorium.

Organised by the Association of Enterprising Congolese Girls and Women (AJFFCE), this event brought together school pupils, students, young entrepreneurs and professionals to address a key issue: career guidance and youth employability. AGL Congo and Congo Terminal contributed their expertise through two complementary sessions. The first focused on a ‘CV, interview and motivation workshop’, and the second on ‘self-employment & vulnerable young people’.

The aim of this conference was to provide a forum for discussion and information tailored to the current realities of the job market. This initiative forms part of a wider effort to guide young people, who are often left without a clear direction when it comes to their academic and career choices.

Aristide NDJAWE, Head of Human Resources at Congo Terminal, led an interactive workshop on the fundamentals of professional applications. Through practical advice and concrete examples, he helped participants put together a strong application (CV and cover letter) and showcase their skills to recruiters (interview).

 

“Today, beyond qualifications, recruiters are looking for candidates who can demonstrate their motivation, adaptability and professionalism. A well-structured CV and thorough preparation for the interview can make all the difference,” he said.

Paris BIDJANG, Director of Human Resources at AGL Congo, took part in the panel discussion on ‘Self-employment as a sustainable solution for vulnerable young people’. In his remarks, he highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship and skills development as drivers of empowerment, encouraging young people to see themselves as full participants in economic development

“Self-employment today represents a real opportunity for young people to create their own value and become key players in economic development. It is essential to support them, train them and build their confidence so that they can turn their ideas into sustainable projects,” he explained.

Through their participation in SEOPC 2026, AGL Congo and Congo Terminal reaffirm their shared commitment to the professional integration of young people and to sharing their experience with future talent. The two companies demonstrate their desire to bridge the gap between the academic and professional worlds, whilst supporting Congolese youth in building their future.
