Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has announced the signing of a codeshare agreement with Royal Air Maroc (RAM) aimed at improving connectivity between Africa, Europe, and Asia. This strategic partnership, based on their shared membership in the oneworld alliance, facilitates smoother connections through their respective hubs in Casablanca (CMN) and Kuala Lumpur (KUL).
Enhanced connectivity on key routes
Under this agreement, Royal Air Maroc will now place its code “AT” on certain Malaysia Airlines flights, including KUL-Doha, KUL-London (LHR), and KUL-Paris (CDG). Conversely, MAS will add its code “MH” to RAM flights connecting Casablanca to Doha, London, and Paris. These targeted codeshare routes not only make intercontinental travel more convenient but also provide passengers with direct access to over 900 destinations worldwide through the oneworld network.
Strategic hubs and improved passenger experience
The hubs in Casablanca and Kuala Lumpur, complemented by efficient connections in Doha, London, and Paris, are set to become key nodes for travelers linking Africa with Asia and Europe. According to the joint statement, the agreement is designed to offer a seamless travel experience, with simplified connections and optimized itineraries, while leveraging the extensive reach of the oneworld network.
Meeting growing intercontinental travel demand
The partnership comes amid strong demand for intercontinental flights, particularly on Africa–Asia–Europe routes. By combining their networks and optimizing connections, RAM and MAS aim to strengthen their global presence and offer passengers a more flexible, competitive solution tailored to the needs of both business and leisure travelers.
The agreement also highlights the synergy between allied airlines and their ability to deliver integrated services while consolidating their roles on major international air transport corridors.
