Progressively deployed between February and June 2025, the Unit quickly became a key pillar of MINUSCA’s logistical framework. Within just a few months, it carried out over 350 missions totaling more than 900 flight hours for cargo transport—including electoral materials—troop deployment, medical evacuations, and passenger transport, including high-level officials.
Over 2,500 tons of equipment and 3,453 passengers were transported successfully. The Unit also carried out essential medical evacuations and humanitarian operations, including free consultations and medicine donations through its Level 1 hospital in Bangui. Additionally, two medical campaigns were conducted in Bangui and Bangassou, providing a total of 140 consultations and raising community awareness about good health practices.
As emphasized by MINUSCA Deputy Force Chief of Staff for Personnel, Evaluation, and Training, Subhash Punia:
“The services provided by the Tunisian Air Transport Unit have significantly contributed to creating a safer environment for operations aimed at promoting peace and stability in the Central African Republic.
