GOCAB, an innovative startup in the fintech sector, has just made its notable entry into the Ivorian urban transport market. During an official ceremony held on Thursday, October 31st in Abidjan, the company unveiled its ambitious project aimed at modernizing urban mobility in Ivory Coast.
An Innovative Solution for Urban Transport
This new platform, resulting from a collaboration with industry giant Yango, distinguishes itself through its innovative approach combining financial technology and transport services. GOCAB offers a unique business model, providing flexible financing solutions to drivers who wish to become entrepreneurs in the ride-hailing sector.
GOCAB’s ambitions match the challenges of urban mobility in Ivory Coast. As highlighted by Hendrick Ketchemen, one of the co-founders alongside Azamat Sultanov, the company aims to integrate no less than 2000 vehicles by 2025. This expansion is expected to generate an equal number of sustainable jobs, thus significantly contributing to local economic development.
Strong Institutional Support
The project has received an enthusiastic welcome from Ivorian authorities. Solange Amichia, Director General of the Investment Promotion Center in Ivory Coast (CEPICI), particularly praised this initiative, emphasizing the crucial importance of the ride-hailing sector in modern urban mobility.
The signing of a major contract with FAW Bestune for the acquisition of 500 vehicles demonstrates the seriousness and ambition of the project. This strategic partnership aims to ensure optimal working conditions for drivers while promoting the emergence of a new generation of entrepreneurs in urban transport.
A Vision for the Future
GOCAB is part of a dynamic transformation of the Ivorian urban landscape, combining technological innovation, financial inclusion, and sustainable development. This initiative promises to redefine urban transport standards in Ivory Coast while creating significant economic opportunities for the local population.
The arrival of GOCAB thus marks an important turning point in the Ivorian urban transport sector, promising to bring concrete solutions to urban mobility challenges while stimulating local entrepreneurship.
