The new national airline of Gabon, Fly Gabon, is set to take to the skies next week. This announcement follows the recent acquisition of its second ATR 72-600, marking a crucial step in the launch of its operations.
Nyl Moret-Mba, CEO of Fly Gabon, confirmed in an interview with the daily newspaper L’Union that the first flights will begin next week. “We have completely renovated the old national terminal with our own funds. All our domestic flights will depart from there,” he stated, emphasizing the company’s commitment to providing a quality customer experience.
National and International Ambitions
Fly Gabon plans to serve all nine provinces of the country, a mission that will depend on bringing regional airports up to standard. Moret-Mba insisted on the importance of covering the entire national territory: “No province can be left aside. That’s the difference between Afrijet and Fly Gabon.”
The company is not limiting itself to the domestic market. It aims to launch international flights, with South Africa as the first destination planned before the end of the year. For this purpose, Fly Gabon has leased an Airbus A320 with two classes, which will also bear the company’s colors.
An Adapted Fleet and Attractive Fares
The choice of the ATR 72-600 for domestic routes was made for its operational and economic performance. For long-haul flights, the leasing of an Airbus A320 will connect Libreville to Johannesburg.
To celebrate its launch, Fly Gabon is offering attractive promotional fares:
- 10% discount for families (minimum 5 people), with an additional 20% for children
- 15% discount for students and high school students
- 20% discount for seniors
- Promotional one-way fares starting from 70,800 F.CFA including taxes, depending on the destination
With these offers and its ambition to cover the entire national territory as well as international destinations, Fly Gabon is positioning itself as a major player in the renewal of air transport in Gabon.
